Re: Come and try the track - Saturday 2nd March 1pm
No excuses of that sort for me.
I'm a wimp.
In fact, I don't even run on wet running tracks or treadmills either.
Marc - are you sure there is a "come try the track" session on on Sat 9 March, 1-3pm?
I believe Colins post was meant to be put on Forum on last Friday.

Being a DHBC member = being a CA member. That means if you ride Audax, they just treat you like one of their members. So no problem riding Audax with a DHBC licence. Based on my one ride on 28s, I think on first glance 28s are theoretically 12% harder, but realistically about 30% harder. Heads up that Bikely looks pretty much dead.
This impacts the 2 route links on http://www.dhbc.org.au/bicycle-club/road.html
Probably a good idea to replace with an alternative link like mapmyride or a JPG or similar.
Please move to correct forum area if it doesn't fit here.

Re: Ride 2 Riverstone / Sunday 1st May 2011
Just to update that there was a number to call to confirm the ride was on and the sun came out for what was a beautiful ride. On road 95% of the way, the 60km route was very nice with cows and tents in the fields and clean fresh air, and friendly volunteers to point the way and manning the rest stop...

Re: Ebays : preloved track bikes
In fact, there is one here. I was interested in this a couple of months ago and procrastinated. He advertised it twice at $450 but has now relisted it and reduced it to $400 - just a frame and forks. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230619079563 thanks for the spot; but pro...

Wildfire S (http://www.htc.com/www/product/wildfires/overview.html) is new and due in Australia next week or so for pre-order according to ( http://www.mobicity.com.au/htc-wildfire-s.html - note : has been discounted to $399 ) although I doubt it can undo the multitude of faults of the predecessor. ...

Re: Time for a new phone
Wildfire or Wildfire S ?
I have the HTC Wildfire and there is a reason why it's free or 'worth' $230 outright , unlocked and delivered in Australia.

Re: Campagnolo Bora One carbon tubular wheelset
My mate who rides with his tubular zipp 303s was looking to switch to clinchers because of the relative grief with tubulars on the road.
From what I understand, after you replace a tubular on the road, basically you need to nurse the bike back and not take any corners at speed etc.

Re: Chain Tugs
I have one of those since my QR sewers will not allow my bike to fit on to a trainer.
Fyi - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/halo-hex-key-skewers-pair/ is $11
(and it's easier to hit a total of $86 for free shipping than $440)

Re: Bicycle Politics
I assume your journeys would be to get to Dunc Gray Velodrome. Personally I've not been out that way myself, the odd driving along Canterbury Road / Hume Highway tells me these are not the best places to risk a ride. The lack of riders, to me, shows that there is lack of safe cycling infrastructure ...
