D Grade seems to basically be a corporate race. C is a good starting point, even though some of the country opens would have a wider handicapping range, you generally won't get much easier than this when it's an Open held in or close to Sydney.

Cootamundra Classic Road Race - 28-29th August
Well, it's 1 month away now, so time to get things organised for another great road open. Saturday is a nice long 120km handicap with a few hills, though they mainly come at around 80kms. If you're doing Grafton this will probably be your last chance for a nice long road race before the big one (unl...

Actually, looking back at my distances from the team time trial. The distance for Tim is actually 36.5km. Therefore, Tims Average is 33.848km/hr.
So, i declare a Tie!! Perfect handicapping choice with the 3km/hr difference.

Hmm, now i'm really kicking myself for not reading the rules all the way through originally. They've updated the end of tour points on the sbs comp, and i've made my big move all the way up to 7th place overall!!!! Only 80points off $20,000. I'd say it mostly came down to missing the transfer cut of...

Re: NSW Individual Time Trial Championships 25th July 2010
It's because they're using a different course to previous years, most people should have known anyway, as it's the same course as the team time trial was. It's a harder course as well, so 36.8km is plenty.

I'm hoping for a big attack from Angry Andy. He had Contador dropped before his chain couldn't take it. Van den Broeck was just trying to hang onto Andy's wheel for most of the chase, and he didn't seem the best descender which is why he only got to the front when it flattened out a bit. All i know ...

There's a foot peg on the backbone that you use to scooter along and then get onto the seat as the penny is moving.

Re: Penny Farthings - how fast are they?
Maybe you should try practicing first!! They go as fast as the rider can pedal, Bigger wheel is better as it basically means a bigger gear. Pedaling is fixed, there are no brakes, and NO you can't use aerobars. Climbing hills is all about power, being light doesn't help much at all. As for speed, i ...

Re: The Tour Talk Thread.
The punishments are not very consistent at this tour. Surely Dean should have been penalised for not holding his line, which in turn required Renshaw to fend him off with his head. I agree Renshaw didn't hold a straight sprint after Cavendish went past, but surely that's just a fine and relegation. ...

You stay in Inverell. It's 228km back to Grafton.
It seems Al had me down for accommodation already.
For the women, you will need to be staying in Glen Innes before the race, as that's where it starts and where sign on is (on the friday).

It's still several months away, but apparently accommodation is getting very difficult to find.
So, the question is who is planning to race???
Entries close on October 10th.

Well done Joshua, a great effort for your first open. You should have gone for the win, as with 15 riders together no one can really get the blame.
Anyway, your handicap will change a little, but it will just help make you stronger.
