I read the whole report, and it's damning. Whoever wrote it did an amazing job, as it's totally cross-referenced with corroborating evidence from disparate sources over a long time-span. For what it's worth, my own opinion is that I've never been able to tell how long my cranks are (I used to be 6' 1'' ) without looking at the stamp. Seems to make a big difference tho' whether on some corners you can still pedal around them.

One of the tricks with the cleats/traffic lights is (when stopping) to not set the gears more than a couple of clicks down from what you were riding at. One click is best. No clicks is better. That way, when you start up the pedal is moving quite slowly to your relative speed and you have more time ...
