I'm interested.
I don't have any big rides planned for this year, so something like this could be good.

Looking at the shots, I think that they guy in blue and yellow did actually win. Have a look at the second last picture, to me, his wheel is pretty much on top of the white line, while the front wheel of the guy in white is just a little bit behind it. Mind you, if the guy in white had done a bike s...

+1 I remember a couple of mountain finishes (not containing Basso). 1) 2008 Tour de France - Stage 10. Won by Piepoli, second was Ricco. Both riders looked as fresh as daisys, and that they had just been on a nice Sunday jaunt. Compare to the photograph of Frank Schleck who is in a world of hurt. 2)...

Re: Rogers wins Tour of California
The problem that Mick Rogers has at the Tour is Mark Cavendish. I can't see HTC-Columbia leaving Mark behind when it comes to the Tour, so that means that he is going to have a couple of riders there to support him. Which then means that it is a few less riders who can support Mick in the mountains....

That could have been the result of a pinch flat as well. I have had a pinch flat go off like a gunshot, and it does destroy the bead of the tyre.

Wow, your legs must be flying! Because you have 26" wheels, this actually makes the gear you're riding equivallent to about 67 inches in the roll out. I was under the impression that when talking in inches, that you are talking about the effective diameter of the rear wheel, not it's rollout. ...

The trick to riding something like that is to watch the horizon, not right in front of you.
Further, you want to do it at a reasonable speed, not stupidly fast, but fast enough where the bike is happy to stay on it's line.

you can use the advanced keywords in Google's search by adding
inurl:dhbc.org.au
which will only search pages that have that string in their URL's
or
site:dhbc.org.au
which will only search the dhbc.org.au site (which includes the forum)
I will try and have a look at the search issue.

That is basically happening because of the width of the two images, they are limiting the minimum size of the table that they are part of, and so once the screen is reduced too much, the table is then pushed below the side navigation bar.
This is basically because of bad web design.

I thought I would have another go at explaining how this is going to work. The range of numbers possible is 0 to 999999, I know that I said a six digit number, so 0 should really be 000000. When you pick a number, you are in fact getting a range of numbers, but that range is dependant on what number...

No You guess a 6 digit number, then if your guess is the closest to one of the two 6 digit numbers that I get off my SecurID, then you win one of the cards. So, as an example, suppose that 3 people make guess of 250000 500000 750000 and the two numbers that come up are 248754 409088 Then the guess o...

Westfield Voucher giveaway - DHBC Competition
OK, I know that this is going to sound crazy, but I assure you that it is legitimate. I have recently acquired some Westfield gift vouchers through work. I can’t be bothered trying to either use them, or get rid of them another way. So, I am going to give them away. I have two $500 gift card voucher...

Replacement Belt for Rollers
Hi I went to use my rollers on Sunday, and the belt snapped, luckily not while I was on them. They are Cinelli (I think) rollers, noisy as hell, but they still work. Does anyone know the best place to source a replacement belt for these? Or is it possible to repair them? It has broken at the join. B...

Two fat cops on mountain bikes... I'd let them chase me. Wouldn't be getting a ticket! One of the security guards at work was once dating a member of the Australian Cyclones. The National Womens Mountain Biking Team. She was working as a cycle courier once, and while riding the wrong way down a one...

That is just bizarre. He tests positive, and is suspended. They either were together at that stage, or they got together after the fact. Then she tests positive, and he separates from her. Wow. I also like the way that he has separated pending her B sample. So much for innocent until proven guilty. ...

From what I have heard, the best video apps on a Mac are produced by Apple themselves. According to this site http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-video-editor.htm Avidmux and VirtualDub are good options. I have used Avidemux at home, and from what I gather VirtualDub is pretty powerful, but it takes a bit of practice to use. There are a lot of guides around on how to use it. If ...

whoops didn't see that rule about not carrying the correct stuff. When I flatted the other week, I wasn't carrying a spare tube, but I did have tyre levers and a puncture repair kit, but I decided to walk it anyway. Is that a penalty? The next morning, I did have a spare tube, but the tyre got destr...

I start the year with a bang, flat last night on the way home, no spare, so walked the last part of it. Patched last night, new tube in this morning, lasted all of about 1km, when it went off, it blew the bead off the tyre, so the tyre is a write off as well. 10 09 08 07 G 06 05 04 03 02.5 Weiyun 02...

I seem to remember someone mentioning to me a while ago, that some clubs have a certain dress code for club events, be it racing, or training. If you look closer, you find that it filters down from the UCI, we are subject to Cycling Australia Rules, and they are pretty much based on UCI regulations....

The map hasn't loaded for me yet, so I don't know your exact route. I assume that you would be doing La Peruse to Kurnell. Ride along Wentworth Ave to the very end (Botany Rd), then turn right, and then first left, then right onto Qantas Drive (I think that it is called something else there). Follow...

Assuming that not everyone parties too hard on Thursday night, who fancies a good ride on Friday morning?
I was going to do Bulli Pass. About 150km from Marrickville. Rating, very hard, Bulli Pass is about 3.5km averaging about 10%.

Good points Mike Something else to be aware of, is that written text is harder to convey a hidden meaning. Vocally, we use tone, and visual indicators to help express our meanings. When something is written, no matter how many smilies and the like we put around it, it is much easier for something to...

I have cycled from my place (Enmore) to just shy of Goulburn. That was 180km. I have also cycled from there to Canberra, that was about 100km. If you don't want to take the highway, you are going to do over 300km. It is about 70km from Enmore to Pheasants Nest, where there is a Service Station you c...

It's easy, look at the horizon and where you want to go, and then just ride, don't hesitate too much, speed is your friend, and your across before you know it. You can easily practice by riding along the road and sitting on a white line on the road. it is a lot easier to do by looking ahead than by ...
