Re: New frame (some assembly required)
Ok, its been a while since the last update and I actually rode the bike to Waterfall this morning. I've been told I should put up some pictures of the finished product. It doesn't ride too bad, I think it feels a bit whippy, this could be due to the fact it doesn't have a chain stay bridge as you ne...

The clothing is in and down at the track. Come down and see me this week Monday and Wednesday nights from 6.30. Closer to 6.30 is preferable. I'll be away for the first two weeks of March so I'll arrange for someone else to look after the clothing.

Re: New frame (some assembly required)
The frame has come back from Bundy's and with a little tip he gave me to straighten up the rear triangle. The back end wasn't out that far and I had to move one of the dropouts down about 1.5mm. This was pretty easy to do. Next is the paint, I decided to spray it with a rust inhibitor first, inside ...

They are the standard Zona stays, 16mm diameter at the top with 0.7mm walls. Spirit is even bigger, 17mm but with 0.5mm walls so it works out lighter and they are a slightly different material.

First of all to answer Alex's questions there are very few seat lugs that contain sockets for seat stays, the ones I'm using do not. If you don't like the way they kick up at the front and they have sufficient length in them then you can just cut them down. A 30 second job.
Also if you can't get low enough look at using a mountain bike stem and put it on upside down, you can get some pretty steep angles.

Being reimbursed the money for the course would be subject to approval by the committee.
Now for my 2 cents worth, the ride leader should be stronger then the other riders in the group, so if you are only a C25 level rider then there may not be too much point. This is just my opinion.

You can't actually pick up anything during office hours. The only time really is to to come down to the velodrome on a Monday or Wednesday night between 630 pm and 830 pm.

Christian I may not be getting this right, but as well as this topic thread there is also the winter clothing order, is that still occurring? The trick to climbing that hill is the same as any steep loose hill, stay in the saddle and keep you weight even on the bike. The best way to do this is to put your weight back and then chew the stem. As for lack of traction, it was slippery when I went up it, I did make it all the way, there were p...

The vests will be club cut as the race cut is quite tight and I'm guessing the majority of people ordering don't want this.
I'm pretty sure I can't get sizing samples so you can use your jersey sizing.

I'm blaming Mike for the whole gloves and shoe covers thing, the minimum is 10, so unless we get 10 takers it's not going to happen. We don't have a glove or shoe cover design at this point so it may delay the entire order slightly. And why don't you people cut and past the list above to make my lif...

I believe Lindsay will be there early, not sure of my arrival time yet, or if I'm driving myself. I know roughly where he will be camping. As for dinner we can just go the the Fickle Wombat, they put on a buffet meal which is pretty good. There isn't a lot of places to eat.

I'm going to start training for this one, not that I know what sort of training would help. As this is being held on a velodrome all racers will have to be licensed, dare I say even a race license. Re: Garmin Edge 500 - slow to find satelites?
I'm guessing that what it refers to as the satellite cache is the almanac, which is the GPSs list of what satellites should be in view at the current time. If the GPS has been off for a while then the almanac will be out of date and it has to get the current one, which comes from the satellites. If ...

Everyone is going to have an opinion here. If you are also going to train on the same wheels then I'd recommend a racing/training tyre. The rolling resistance isn't as good but they are cheaper and you get less punctures. I've been running Michelin Krylions and have been pretty happy with them. Lots...

Another thing to consider is the shape of the lever hoods, it very much comes down to personal preference. I've ridden SRAM, old Ultegra, even older 105 and RSX (which they longer make). I personally prefer the shape of the SRAM levers.

How much money do you have to play with? With SRAM the difference between Rival and Force is material changes to cut the weight, with Red you get zero travel shifting on the left lever (front derailleur) as well as some more material changes like titanium springs, ceramic bearings and a bit more car...
