Old Rusty Bike Wheels Wanted

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone had some old, rusty bike wheels that we can borrow over the New Years period for a 'flower installation' ?

It is just an idea at this stage so if we can't find them we'll look for an alternative.

Re: Electronic vs. Mechanical Shifting?

Learn something new every day James:
650B is 584mm diameter, 650C is 571mm, so 13mm, or about 1/2 inch.

Happy to update you on the build... Debating whether to let Christian near it yet or whether I entrust it to more 'certified' bike mechanics. It's a pity Adrian no longer lives in Sydney... :-(

Yes, have someone ride behind you going "whirrr", "bzZt", "whirrr" while they empty your bank account. Actually, that might be only Campy electronic. Eleri offered aaaaaaaaaaaaages ago but I think we decided we couldn't be bothered as she wears Speedplays and I wear Sh...

Thursday 31st July: Everesting

Hi All, A friend of mine from my Triathlon squad is aiming to 'Everest' Watsons Bay hill tomorrow. If successful, she will be the 3rd woman worldwide to do it and the first Kiwi. Here are the likely stats: Calculations 1 lap (up and down to Belah ave) dist: 1.5km ascent: 50 - 55m elevation time: 6mi...

Re: Electronic vs. Mechanical Shifting?

Eleri makes a good point that shifting onto the big ring can be hard. My hands are little and I have been known to slip occasionally.

I like whirring.

Oh, but I don't have a beard or drink beer.

I have a dishwasher we need to pass on. It hasn't been used for 12 months or so but was in perfect condition prior to that. We were supposed to alter the joinery in our kitchen to install it and never got round to it. And now we're selling the house. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i382/joskinne...

FireFly Build: Shifting, Finish and Build

Some of you know I have a new bike frame on its way. It's a custom made Firefly . However, it has come to crunch time where I have to decide between mechanical (likely Dura Ace) or electronic gearing (Di2) as the frame will be made to suit. I know I've bored a lot of you on rides already asking for ...

Just wondered if anyone else had noticed the two gentleman who 'everested' the hill beside Taronga Zoo yesterday?

They climbed it 100 times over 14 hours.

Unfortunately I am away doing a triathlon.

But when I started with the club these club crits were a monthly feature and a lot of fun so I heartily recommend everyone to give it a go.

Re: 2015 - disc brakes. The next big thing?

I agree with Anthony K. Great idea for commuting (though I could just ride a MTB) in the rain. Incidentally, Drew Johnson, a former pro rider (and married to an old friend of mine), is the Australian distributor for Volagi that use full disc brakes. He loves them and will likely argue against all of...

I can suggest Atelier de Velo in the city (depending on where you work). Very friendly and their service department is right in the middle of the shop so you can watch what they do.

Remember Tuesday is a rest day, any activity receives negative points
Most TdF riders ride on rest day. I think any riding should incur at least incur 1 point?

Especially given we have a DHBC sanctioned ride on tomorrow morning.
