Re: New Bike Build
Looks nice and light!!! I'm guessing the Ultegra is Pedals?? The Yokozuna cables are very nice to use, just make sure you've got something to protect the frame from cable rub. Don't the 7900 Cranks come with the bottom bracket tool? The 7800 cranks always did. Yes should be light. You are right, Ul...

Re: New Bike Build
It is the Antares. I had it on a loaner bike in the USA and liked it. Little wider and shorter then the Arione which I have on several bikes. Thought I'd try something new, I can always go back to an Arione if I hate it after getting some extended time to ride it. Thanks for the BB tool loan (again).

Do you know what it was worth new? I'd be asking why the fork was changed, the slice forks were pretty good, maybe it was crashed bad enough to crack the fork. You can still use your old helmet for CA events. What does this mean for entering into Cycling Australia sanctioned events.
Do you need a helmet with the sticker complying with the new standard? Can you keep using your old one in these events??

I've read that the Zipp rims are designed for a 23mm tyre. You can run narrower but apparently some aero benefits are lost. You'll also need some glue - possibly two tubes for each wheel depending on how much residue is currently on them. That said here are my opinions - Vittoria Evo Corsa CX. This ...

Re: riding in the rain?
No riding on the track in the rain - it is usually an indoor roller session. Depending on the turnout (generally only the dedicated few when raining) there are limited rollers and trainers available, so bring your own if you have them.

In california again - really need a bike out here, lots of cyclists. Checked out some bike stores yesterday then went to Maker Faire, which had some weird and wonderful bicycle contraptions built, will post photos when I can get them off the camera. Wish I could have gone to the Tour of California b...

I've had to cancel my entry today due to work travel. Was looking forward to this race too, and was hoping to keep my fitness progression coming out of Coota.

So how was it? Went well for me - finished with the winning bunch on both days (at the back, staying out of trouble). Day 1. Great weather for racing, my group worked well together. 3 riders came past quickly at about the 30km mark and I was the only one to jump on them. Stayed with them for about ...

James, What is the name & number of the pub we are staying at?
Shrubb, I'm willing to meet at Maccas, just give me a time (and the correct location) - I'm probably not the best to work it out. We were there for breakfast last time so it must have been around 10am?

Re: Training chit chats thread... Revelations, plans, logs e
Well finished my first commute on the 'new' bike. I found it surprisingly enjoyable, as I would consider myself someone who enjoys road more than track, and using the appropriate gears for the situation. Anzac bridge and Lilyfield Rd weren't an issue on 81 inches - I thought it would be harder but m...

48x16 = 81 inches. Didn't cause me too much of an issue going up hill or starting, I could just do with a bit more spin in my day.

First commute in on it. Gearing felt a bit big at 48x16, might need a 17 for the back. Could just require a few rides to get used to though.

Slow leak that I had to change at the waterfall turn around. Couldn't get the tyre to seat properly so it took a while - tube seemed to have a little too much rubber around the valve that prevented the clincher getting in. 16 orphic daylight 7.5 Christian 07 G, Anthony 06 Weiyun, Chubb 05.5 Rainbow,...

Finally got myself organised enough to get to an early Randwick Bontany CC ride. Arrived way to early and did a couple of laps of the park. Saw Vic ride past, then Mark and Jo a bit later.
