Re: Dulwich Hill spotted

Yes that was good fun. Organised by Mel from SU Velo. Apparently they are held regularly and it was quite a swift pace so I'd definitely like to go again. Perhaps won't go on the fixie next time though. There was actually a guy on the back of the bunch this morning. I'm not sure what he was d...

Road Racing for the Visually Impaired

Some of you may know Donna Meehan who does a lot in the sport of cycling especially coaching and increasing female participation. She is working with a young 23 year old visually impaired female rider who has been riding tandems for a while but would like to get into more serious racing. Donna is lo...

Re: Vintage ride? maybe a 2 day tour?

Sounds great. Unfortunately I can't make it as I'm puppy sitting. You'll have to get a train to Maitland and ride from there as there is no station in Cessnock or the Hunter I don't believe. And watch out for drink riding... The cops keep a close eye out in that area, especially over the holidays. O...

Re: Knee Pain - where to start?

As I mentioned, I rarely get knee or back pain. I get some back pain if I haven't ridden for a while or if I do over 100kms but I don't think they are necessarily bike fit issues (more fitness issues!). However, I also think I've been very lucky with my knees despite years of netball. Regarding Burw...

Re: Knee Pain - where to start?

I had a similar story but luckily escaped with no serious injury. My first road bike was a Cell and I didn't have it fitted properly. I didn't know anything about bikes at the time so ended up with a frame that Cell promised was a 'great price' but ended up being more suited to a 6 foot male (it was...

Re: Clover gets the green light to finish the CBD bikeways

Hmmmm... I agree the shortest route is not always the safest but Pyrmont Bridge Road is wide enough in most parts for a car to safely pass a cyclist. It significantly improves after Glebe with fewer cars on the road. It is a much better route than Crystal St for example, or even the back lanes of Su...

Re: Clover gets the green light to finish the CBD bikeways

For me it's the east/west link. Finishing off the cycleway up King St. The traffic is generally moving slow enough to not be a significant risk, but the state of the road is so bad that it makes it quite uncomfortable. Speaking of which, does anyone ride Pyrmont Bridge Rd? Is that not the most dilap...
