And the raffle prizes were:

$100 voucher from the Giant Store (used to be MC Cyclery) at 230 Clarence Street Sydney were won by James Rogers

$50 Cycology t-shirt vouchers were won by Ted Robinson and Craig Weller

Babici Jersey was won by Simon Berry

Thanks very much to Giant Sydney, Cycology and Babici for your support. We raised about $500 at the Christmas Party that will help support club racing including the proposed National Road Series Team and the Juniors.

Eleri, I took the liberty of updating the year to 2012 in this post :-)

Also, just interested as to why the Females don't also get an Elite & Masters award for both track and road? Seems odd to me and it certainly happened in past years.

It hasn't Stuart and the reason it hasn't is because we simply dont have the riders to fill out of the categories.

Last year we had:

Rider of the year Female – Lizanne Wilmot

Most improved rider of the year Female – Jo Skinner

Rider of the year Female Masters – Jo Troutman

Most improved rider of the year Female Masters – Eleri Morgan-Thomas

If we were to award masters and elite for track and road we would currently have the same people winning it year after year. Hopefully in the future this can change but at the moment it just how things are...

"Most Improved Enduro Masters"

I might have "Enduro Master" tattooed across my back in gothic script, then sell my bike, retire to the couch, get really fat and regale all with stories of my good old days.

Thanks, I'm really touched.

@Shrubb Face: Apologies for my misunderstanding of the previous years awards. I'd just assumed the women had equal ranking to the men.

However, using the committee's logic, if the same male was to win the award year after year, would the committee stop awarding it, or do they just 'share it around'? I can't see that's a valid reason to not present an award. If you win year after year, maybe it's because you're putting in the hard work, doing the racing and getting the results. No? And if there's nobody deemed worthy of the award, just don't award it and say its not being awarded this year.

I'm sure the committee have sound and reasoned criteria for selecting recipients of these 'best in club' awards. Just seems to me that the women are being short changed.

Good suggestion - I think we need to settle on the main awards and go with that. They seem to change every year.
