The recent survey was great. It highlighted lots of things the club should do ... and we are up for it but need a few more hands.

Most importantly we need a Volunteer Coordinator to:
  • Maintain lists of who can do what
    Match-up people and tasks
Volunteer jobs - some of these can be shared on a roster
Social and events coordinator - plan regular events for members
General support for Juniors (Wed), Seniors (Mon & Wed) Women's (Sat) track training:
  • Leaf blowing
  • bike set-up
  • meet and greet for new people
Working bee coordinator for DHBC track bike maintenance and fix-up
Website help - technical and content
Members who could present on a topic where they have professional expertise

If you could assist with any of these roles, please put your name down against a role in this thread or DM me.

We also need people prepared to become ride leaders (33 of you said you were interested - but it was anonymous). If you are interested please talk to Geoff Martin or DM him.

Thank you Kylie for volunteering to be Volunteer Coordinator

I'm now calling for volunteers to help out with the following jobs:

Event coordinator
- organise a series of small events for members that could include things like informal info nights at Marrickville Road Cafe or a BBQ to welcome new members.
The job would entail lining up the speakers (who will probably be other club members), organising the venue (talking to Sasha) and publicising it through the forum and facebook.

Track helpers

There are a range of roles that need filling. You wouldn't have to do it every week, we could organise a roster
General support for Juniors (Wed), Seniors (Mon & Wed) Women's (Sat) track training:

- Leaf blowing every time we use the track it needs to have the leaves blown away before the track can be used.

- bike set-up, this is important for the Juniors and the Women. It needs someone who is mechanical enough to raise and lower seats, get pedals on and off and just check the bike is safe.

- meet and greet for new people. This is a role that would really help the riders. It is a role for a non-rider who can meet new people, explain how the track works and do general information about the club. No real technical knowledge is required, but a friendly and welcoming manner is most useful! We can provide some talking points if necessary.

- Working bee coordinator for DHBC track bike maintenance and fix-up. Many of the bikes are in poor repair and need an overhaul. The club can pay for parts but needs someone to take this project in hand. You will find many willing helpers, but a coordinator is really required. This role can be done anytime - in fact, it's probably best it isn't done when the bikes are being used for training.

If you are able to do any of these jobs, please DM Kylie or contact her via email kyliesimmonds<at>hotmail.com

Tell her which role you could help with and when you would be available.
