What a great turn out for Wednesday night training and kudos to our more experienced riders who've been making the most of Monday training as well. Unfortunately Phil Kelly couldn't make it for the Juniors' training session, but we muddled through regardless. Welcome to Wesley Ho (brother of Selina) who joined us for the first time, and thanks to their Dad for being a handler. Welcome also to Ben McKeever-Ford, who's thinking of becoming a member and who joined-in with Sian Phillips and daughter Bronte McPhail for a gruelling roller session run by Lizanne. Training included some Sprint Derbies, 133 metre Standing Starts a Miss & Out and a 12-Lap Points Race. Firsts to Francis Teow and Bill Bolton in the sprints. Best time to Tom Bolton in the standing starts, followed closely by Oskar Wesley-Smith and Tony Achjian. Well done Wesley Ho for winning the Miss & Out. The somewhat confused Points Race was won by Hugo Venville on 7 points, followed by Bill Bolton on 6 points, equal third to Tom Bolton and Tony Achjian and fourth to Guiellmo. Planning
With the DHBC Juniors membership growing like crazy we'll be discussing over the coming weeks how we can better organise training to accommodate the different ages and abilities. Let us know your thoughts. It looks like we'll have enough riders to enter two teams in sprint and time trial events for the coming season, but we need to plan ahead. Watch this space.
Sign On
DHBC is now using a sign-on book for riders attending training. Please sign-in at the begining of the session as you pay your $5 track fee.
Licences
Following on from the success of the helmet check, we'll be checking licences next Wednesday - please bring your licence card or if you have yet to receive one, your receipt showing your licence number.
Emergency Infomation
DHBC Juniors, please let me know by return email your licence number, licence type (racing or ride for all), age group and supply an emergency phone number and contact person in case of an accident. I'm in the process of updating DHBC Junior records.
