Ladies and Gents,
After speaking with some of the usual suspects, we're going to try and get some kind of programme going for Monday and Wednesday nights. The aim is to have it posted here at least a day beforehand so people can make arrangements if they need to change bars/gearings etc. Those who don't use the forum will either get a nice surprise or simply have to surrender to technology :)
Open to suggestions but at this stage I would look at going down a similar path to the RAW series format ie,
1. Warmup
2. Sprint
3. Endurance
4. Sprint/Endurance/Race of some sort

It won't be set in stone as it will obviously depend on who turns up and whether or not we can use the motorbike. If you wish to do something in particular that others may benefit from, or you simply have an idea that would be great for all of us, post it up in this thread and we'll see what we can do.
Hopefully it will give us something specific to look forward to and get people out of the stands and on to the track.
Tonight we'll discuss a program for Monday with those who turn up and see how it goes.

Sounds good Rhys! Especially as there are things I don't know how/like to do (such as the madison) so can stay away on those nights.

great idea rhys. a couple of times lately when alex isn't there we
kinda all run around like headless chooks not knowing what to do,
and we waste time we could have on the bike! so yeah i like this
idea!

wednesday will probably start with motor pacing (if we have riders)
which is always popular. again if we have two riders having a 'fast'
and 'slow' motorpace seems good. i haven't been round much on
mondays so not sure of the m.o. there.

Righto.
Monday 8 October.

1830-1900 Rollers/warm-up
1900-1920ish warm-up paceline.
1930- Seated whistle sprints. No standing up.
Madison, depending on who turns up. If not, handicap team pursuits or italians.
If we have time after that, lead-outs.

Let me know what you think, and make some suggestions for Wednesday night.

Sounds great!

Hey something I thought might be fun (and tiring) for wednesday perhaps
were madison pursuits - two teams of two racing over 4kms with madison
changes. never done that before, thought it could be cool and something
different...

Good idea pat, we will maybe try it one Monday or next Wednesday if you'd like?

Tomorrow night Ben and I are going to start with some timed Kilos at 7pm when the juniors are done. Others welcome to join in.
From there if we have the motorbike going, an A and B motorpace. If not then a regular warm up paceline.
After this perhaps some team sprints like we did last Wednesday, groups of three with each rider trying each position.
Team pursuit practices on completion for those interested, and lead-outs if we have the time.

Didn't get enough of them last week? haha

A full kilo is too much for me at this stage I think, but I was hoping to get
the gate out and do some starts. So i can hold the gate for your starts
and do the timing.

Edit: Army got their act together and we finished early.

Tonight - 3-up match sprints, with either an As and Bs scratch race or a madison if people want.

Are you guys planning on team pursuing again tomorrow night? If so I'm happy to run some kind of sprint drills in the interim like Monday. That was awesome fun.

Yes...Hopefully we can get the motorbike out too. Alex and I were going to try and practise Madison changes off the back of the motorpace...State Madi. is one week after the team pursuit.

I was thinking of getting the start gate out again today, happy to work around all the activity of course. was planning on going long today (well 2 laps is pretty long for me...). i dunno if the team pursuiters have practised the first few k's of the race? maybe us fat arsed bludgers can be holders for the skinny folk and you can get your opening laps right? but whatever suits, im easy!

coach rhys - do we have a program for tonight yet?

Can't make it tonight I'm shattered, but I promise to come next week now the weather is warmer. I will just fit in with what's going on. Coach Rhys...it all sounds good though.

Patty I'm thinking we can work around the pursuers/paceline like we did Monday night (this worked well). I had a few things in mind but running some starts and doing some timed efforts will work too. I'll try and get there a little after six and we can discuss.

Who wants to do what Monday night? I'm keen to do another few rounds of 3-up match sprints in between the pursuit training provided people are keen. Any other ideas throw them out there.

Tomorrow night I was thinking a warm-up paceline (trying to keep it steady, not a smash-fest), with some 3-up match sprints.
This to be followed by either a madison if people are interested, or getting two or three riders together as the rabbits for the rest of us to catch.
Hope to see you all there in recovery from the fixie century.

For Wednesday the 31st Theo was saying he'd try and get Alex Sommer down to ride the motorbike, or maybe we could contract Tim or Nathan to ride it for a bit provided they were keen.
Otherwise I will get the gate out and run some starts, if we have time we could do both.
John/Mr Wallman/Chubbsy do you guys want to have a go at the pursuit?

Hey Bro

mondays the track opens about 6:30 ish, for the first time, i suggest coming down, and mostly checking it out. the speed may still be a little fast for you. but it's good to start considering it.
bring your bike, and a parent.

have a chat with Alex Chubb before you get on. and look for the senior juniors like Chris, Tom, and Jake. They will be able to help you out, and maybe do some warm up pace lines.
I'm not sure what the drills are tonight, but if the speed is too fast, sit on the rollers (do heart rates, ask Alex how to do them)

p.s i don't train on mondays so i won't be there to show you around.
good luck

So to answer my own question, it was raining everywhere but at the track. The track picked up a light shower but not enough to make it wet. Those standing starts were cruel.

Is training likely to be on tonight? BOM radar let me down majorly this morning so I'm not trusting it for tonight. I will most likely venture out anyway, if it rains I will just get some McDonalds.
