Hey guys, 1st Saturday of month means there will be an omnium this Saturday. Hopefully it won't rain out this time. We'll probably have a bbq too.

Where: Tempe Velodrome

When: Saturday, 1sh of November 2008

What time: Gates open 1pm for a 2pm start, sharp.

Likely finish time: 5pm

Events: flying 200m, 5km graded scratch race based on numbers, 3km pursuit, points race- possibly graded depending on time restraint & 1km time trial

Who can come: Everyone! With the omnium format there is something for everyone and over 50% of racing is timetrialling so you won't be dropped or unable to compete!!!

You need to give more notice for these Simon, I'm already committed. But I'll turn up for the BBQ

They're on the first week of every month unless otherwise stated, I don't think you really need reminded Mike, the routine doesn't change.

I should be there although I feel about as fast as a with on morphine.
Simon... do you want me to invite people at sydney cyclist if they want to check out the velodrome? There were a few people interested last time I posted pics from the event.

Yeah yeah, they can't ride without a current cycling license but by all means they are very welcome to come along and see what it is all about..

I was planning on coming but if the weather stays as it is, i think ill give it a miss. To much work to do to take time off for just a roller session.

Lets just hope for sun.

That was one awesome afternoon. I think we had 7 riders in total and the weather held out just fine. Big thanks to everyone who helped organise.

This months Omnium crew

The track rookie. Big red welcomes one more to Tempe.

Image
He sure can sprint. Second fastest in the 200m sprint

Image
Simon's machine. So fast, I didn't get any photos of the two in flight.

Image
Matt's beautiful blew vortex... although rumour has it he has eyes for another.

Image
Adrian's freshly pimped apollo with nitto track bars and fizek saddle.

Image
Julian - fastest man in cargo pants. A true trackie if ever their was one. Known to inhale massive amounts of air. So much you'd think he'd popped a tyre twice in one lap. We're sure he could go even faster sans shorts.

Close up of Christian's fast backside. This photo has been resized but I can send all 12megapixels on request.

The counter... "What lap was that again Jo?"

Great photos Adrian, i think the last one of you perfectly captures the anarchy which was our lap counting. Poor Jo even had the lap counter go up for her at one stage.

Yes - well you can tell that even though Adrian is an Academic, he obviously doesn't excel in the maths department......Then again poor Lindsay didn't have much luck counting either.

I will have blame most of the spectators also as I must have asked what lap it was about 5 times and you all ignored me. I guess for some of you it was probably like a normal night at home when your wife talks but you don't really listen!!!

Was a great day anyway...Pity more of the DHBC girls didn't make an appearance.

Christian: I wish my butt was as small as yours, it would help me to make the transition to the fast group not having to haul that extra weight
