Tim (Othy) was hit by a taxi going to work the other day. I will let him tell you more of the gory details, but as usual - the cab driver was at fault. Tim was almost unconscious after the accident. He was pretty smashed up when Mark Hales and myself went to visit. After the cuts bruises and facial swelling go down, he at least only has to deal with a broken thumb, but may be off the bike for a while.

Anyway Tim - this is more just to let every one know your alright and I am sure every one will wish you a speedy recovery.

Yep...he is at home but moving quite slowly. WHen he got hit his wife was in Melbourne. He managed to just give some one her phone number in between consciousness so she called some of his work people who came to see him at the hospital.

Thanks everyone. I'm sore and recovering at home. Have a fractured thumb, few stitches and other assorted injuries, but lucky to avoid any major broken bones. Bike is pretty totalled - impact managed to bend the cranks! Helmet has saved my life - impact was mostly to my head - its smashed up as well.

The police are involved and there are plenty of witnesses.

Glad that you are ok. The story sounded it could have been a heck of a lot worse.

Rest well and see you soon. Sounds like you are in for a shinny new bike.

get well soon Tim

When i was hit by a taxi, my cranks were bent as well. taxi drivers are one of the worst motorists around. i second guess all motorists now and am esp careful of taxis. its good the police are involved and you have witnesses, it was exactly the same in my situation.

what taxi company was it??

They paid out money for my bike very quickly, i had dental injuries which totalled nearly 4K, the taxi companies insurance paid that out as well.

Rest Up, get better and hopefully all the insurance is sorted out quickly.

Get well Tim(othy).
And get well Tim(yone) - you're obviously not well if you think I dream of Jeanie is a good show ;-)
