Just quickly, I know that some people wanted to do the three gorges when it was held by someone in the club a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, the Renegade group will be taking the A and B Groups through there on the ANZAC long weekend - 24th April.

Check out http://www.jamescheetham.net/Renegade for more information. We leave from the Renegade Shop at 6:30am Sharp, there is no sign on, so you can show up 30 seconds before the departure time if you want.

The A group will do all three, while the B Group will do just Galston and Berowra.

Just a reminder that the 3 gorges is on next weekend.

Also, the Renegade group is going to do a ride to the South on the 15/5 if anyone is interested. Start point is at Sydney Park for a 6:30am departure. The route is

C Group - Kurnell - 60km
B Group - RNP to Bundeena Turnoff - 80km
A Group - RNP Audley In, Waterfall Out - 90km

If anyone from DHBC is interested in coming along you are more than welcome. And some local knowledge of the route wouldn't go astray.

Mark, the rides leave from Lane Cove, so I would suggest you make your own way there. I typically ride along Victoria Rd, and you are welcome to try and meet up with me along there if you want, but I am feeling pretty strong at the moment, so don't expect a gentle pace.

And Weiyun, you may want to check your dates, 15th May is a Saturday.

If anyone is interested, the Saturday Renegade Group is going to be leaving from Sydney Park this Saturday (15th May). The three groups are going to Kurnell (C Group), Bundeena Turnoff (B Group) and RNP Audley In (A Group).

If anyone is interested in doing any of these rides, you are welcome to show up. It would also be great to have some people in the bunches who are familiar with the routes.

Thanks

James

For those going on Ken Dinnerville, there is one short, but very sharp hill which we have to go up three times. This is often where riders get dropped. Al and Coral sit at the top making cups of tea for those who give up.

The best way to practice for this, is to 'go up hills'. For those going to Dinnerville, the practice of riding through RNP with Renegades could be worthwhile. I might try to get there myself.

Remember, this won't be an official club ride.

Can I please ask, that if you do come along with Renegade to wear your DHBC jersey. The reason for this is that you are much more likely to know the route. I am not going to label you as "bunch leaders", but I am going to point out that the "red devils" know the way.

I will be in the A group in a Renegade Jersey, but the B and C Groups will benefit from having some local knowledge.

Thanks

James

There is another Renegade Ride to the south this weekend.

A Group - Waterfall/RNP
B Group - Waterfall (optional Waterfall descent and climb)
C Group - Audley

If anyone is interested in coming, we are leaving from the Car Park at Sydney Park on the Princess Highway at about 6:30am.

Amazingly with all the pre-Xmas calendar collisions, I have the whole Sat AM free, but not Sun. So may show up if there's no last minute event.

Thanks to Marcus and Andre who came out with us on Saturday, sorry we didn't see you at Sutherland Andre, but we had a fairly major mechanical at the start of the park that held us up for about 20 minutes.

Also, the Renegade Group is doing a big ride on New Years Day. We are planning to go north up the coast, so cross the Spit Bridge, then along Pittwater Rd all the way to Palm Beach before returning via Church Point and Mona Vale Rd. I would expect the distance from Lane Cove to be 90-100km. It will be a combined A-B Group, so expect a pace in the mid-high twenties. As always, any riders are welcome.

James
