Report on E Grade:

Al Sumner, Ron Webster, Frank Campbell and another Dulwich Hill rider who I didn't get his name lined up for the start of E grade at 8am this morning.
At the drop of the flag it was the unknown DH rider who bolted from the start. He had a 100 metre lead by the first lap.I was trying to bridge the gap with the rest behind. After two laps the bunch had caught up to the leader and Ron and Frank took turns at the front. Al and another rider had been dropped by the furious start. The track was wet down the back straight so I took it easy but I was loosing ground around the first corner. As the race progressed I started to warm up. Ron and Frank were doing turns at the front. I was at the end of the bunch and worked up to the front to do a couple of laps at the front with five laps to go. We came past Al and he joined in again.
On the bell lap I found myself in last position and I thought it was all over for me. Ron, Frank and the unknown DH rider were towards the front as they turned onto the main straight for the run to the finish line. The bunch were not pulling away from me so I thought I will go harder to try to get a place,I put it up two gears and went past thee or four riders with about 70 metres to go and saw the leaders were in my sight so I went harder and with about 30 metres to the finish I sailed past the leading trio to win the race.
Frank crossed the line in third, the other DH rider was fourth with Ron in fifth.

Great work guys - just who was the mystery rider I wonder? Jo & I were going to do Tennis Centre today too but decided we needed some more training so did Waterfall instead.

Ok - I won't tell the officials you should be in D grade, if you split the money with me - 60% me 40% you. That sounds fair hey!!! Then again - you will be racing me, and I dont want you over taking me at all...so you stay in E then.
