Hello all DHBCer's, This month we reach round 5 of the DHBC criterium series. I am happy to announce that this month I picked up our first sponsor for this event - Bernard Beer!!! Though I have yet to work out the details, we will now have series prizes!!!

Teams points race. This race will be run similar to the individual pointscore except rather than an individual score, teams will be created and team scores accumulated. the way it will work is the race will consist of a number of sprints, like 4. If there are 4 riders in each team, then each rider will only be alllowed to sprint for one sprint. Teams should elect which rider will ride for which sprint but can be changed during the race, baring that riders cannot sprint for a second time if a team member has not yet sprinted. Overall pointscore will be allocated the same as the team timetrial. If there are not enough riders make up teams it will revert back to an individual points race.

Criterium: Sunday 17/07/2010
Location: Dunc Gray Criterium circuit
Start time: 7:30am- 8am
Expected finish time: 8:30am-9:30am
Cost: $5 for racing
Prize money: nil.
Who can race: anyone with a racing licence

The plan is that everybody meet at Mick Mazza's at 6:30am as usual & ride out together race & ride back as like last month. The route has been found to be suprisingly safer & quieter than expected.

Riders will need to enter through the pedestrian gates as the main gates will be locked. For driving you will need to park on the street

If anybody chooses to drive out or is coming from another direction & doesn't know where dunc Gray is; here's the map:

Prizes hey :D and I'm coming third :D Quite a lead I have over Alex chubb there hey :D I note it all down to my road riding supremacy in general, races over 3 laps are really what I train for at the moment, loving those over 750 metre events :D

I'm in.

Assuming previously discussed arrangements for DHBC bike bus from Georges River Rd still stands?
In any case I intend to cycle out from GR Rd near Burwood Rd at a pace geared towards the E/F grade punter.

@Andrew - I'm out for this Sunday but I shall return before the end of the series to try to claw back some points as no doubt my slender lead will be demolished this weekend.

Andrew, if it's not raining and I can face the temperature at that hour of the morning, I'll leave the corner of Milton and Georges River Rd at about 6.40. Not sure I remember exactly where you join the route, though...

@Alison, if it's on, I'll be at the corner of McCall Ave & Georges River Rd at about 0650. ( McCall Ave is about 100m further down GR rd from Burwood road. (so just past the big servo which is closed for renovations at the moment.) It would likely take you less than 5 minutes to get from Milton St to there (it's downhill)

ok...
I was told that if it was wet, we call it off, and the roads are all wet. I cant tell if the actual clouds look like rain because its too early and dark, but every thing is wet.

Going by the instructions we decided on the event is cancelled

Good call, Tim. I finally caught up on the sleep I haven't had since the start of the Tour.
