I just started to do serious cycling and been looking forward to go for a group ride. Is this club is the best option for a beginner like me? I'm also looking for a cycling community that I could meet new friends and socializing. Thanks

Hello Paycheck and welcome!

Why don't you come along for a ride, either Saturday Slowies (which, once you get to Centennial Park is as slow or not as you want) or on a Waterfall ride on Sundays if you are up to an 80km ride in a bunch. That way, you can check us out for yourself! Starts and times are on the website. Just turn up, and if you like us, join the club.

We have people of all abilities in our club, from 9 year olds learning at the track through to the odd 70+ blokes who race. We've got super fast track and road riders who race in A grade and a bunch of Masters riders who race plus alot of people who don't have much interest in racing at all and ride for fitness, the social aspects and everything else. We try hard to be inclusive.

yep! welcome Paycheck! (what's your real name?)
DHBC is awsome. i joined to be social, the bike riding is just a bonus. Come down to slowies on saturday, watch the weather if it's raining most don't ride. it's a no drop group so it doesn't matter how beginner you are, and then hang out at the cafe. look forward to seeing you!

Yep for sure!

I started riding with DHBC about a year ago, and it has been awesome! Really nice people,
riders of all standards etc etc... You should also consider coming to the velodrome on
Monday + Wednesday night!!

Thank you everyone for a welcome messages. Forgot to introduce myself. I'm RJ, from Thailand (I grew up with Americans when I was in Bangkok, so I've got an American accent Haha). I'm a student in Macquarie uni. I love cycling now. Just installed a new clipless pedals YESTERDAY. Lol. Still practicing on clipping and unclipping (don't wanna embarrass myself by falling down at traffic light) Anyway, looking forward to Saturday slowie!! If you join the Saturday slowies, might be a better idea to meet up at Kings St, Newtown.
