Location: Dunc Gray Criterium circuit

The plan is that everybody meet at Marrickville Rd Cafe at 6:30am as usual & ride out together race & ride back.

Riders will need to enter through the pedestrian gates as the main gates will be locked. For driving you will need to park on the street

If anybody chooses to drive out or is coming from another direction & doesn't know where dunc Gray is; here's the map:

Hi Simon,

I love the idea, is it possible to get a day license?

Thanks,

That sounds like great fun but not sure if I can make it due to a Xmas function.

Any idea what time we'd be back at Marrickville ?

A DHBC NRS team sounds awesome so i am still keen to donate even if I'm not able to make it on the day.

Cheers
Spiros

Its a short course, and very fast, and quite varied. Much harder than Heffron Park. The ride out and back is also quite a good one, and fun to do in a big bunch. Those wanting to have a different ride, but not yet with a racing licence, would be welcome to ride out and back and watch the crit.

Classic shot! Perfect example of sucking wheel.

The domestique is quite exhausted, signs of stress, showing all over his face.

The protected leader is in good form, fresh, and smiling at the camera, preparing for the post ride interview.

G'day Derek. I've looked into one day licences before and they have proven to cost more than what they are worth unless for very big events the price comes down. Last time I checked they were around $40. Probably what Geoff suggests is best ride out and have a look or head out to heffron park & check out what Crit racing is all about. Unfortunately with the dangers there is no 'try before you buy.'

Derek, it's also in the window of renewal for racing licenses so if you upgrade now I think you get the rest of this year plus all of 2013.

Trouty's race grimace often looks like a smile. In this case though I think you're right.

She would be smiling even more if she closed that gap a little. More benefit to be gained!

How can it be dangerous Derek ......with me smiling like that. Dive in, get a race licence, you will get fit before you know it.

Which way does the bunch ride? I'd like to join at Croydon, which would be easy for me if people go along Liverpool Rd.

Hi Marc.
The way I've ridden out to DG previously with The Club is Mville rd, New Canterbury rd, cut across to Milton st then along Georges River rd.

As far as I'm awhere the route hasn't changed.

A past jump on point has been the cnr of Milton & Georges River rd.

Cheers,
Mark

Bugger. Waited for 20mins on cantebury road with no sign of riders. Checked the forum, a couple of drops appeared and went home.

We don't need a rain dance to get rain, just schedule a DHBC crit and we are guaranteed it!

Andrew B, JohnJ and I waited at the cnr of Georges River Rd and Milton St, Ashfield until 7pm. Then Andrew checked the DHBC website and said it was cancelled.
Ironically, it is now 7:19am and I believe the dizzle has stopped.

It was a difficult decision, with the weather just hanging around in a borderline state. The radar was showing a reasonable area of rain, so we decided to call it, taking into consideration safety on a wet track (especially on the tight bottom corners).

Sorry everybody we had to cancel yesterday. Dunc Crit circuit is very dangerous in the rain. I am looking at good dates to re-schedule. might be just before Christmas or early January.
