Thanks all for the reports and pics.

The ttt was as hard as anything I've done on the bike, mosty spent trying to hang onto Mike's or Mark's wheel. I knew that having lost one rider already, getting dropped wasn't an option.
It was a bit disappointing to lose a couple of minutes to a mechanical, but that's cycling.

My weekend was soured when, driving to Sunday's race, my bike flew off the roofrack. Cracked frame and other damage, but could have been worse if another car was behind. Now dealing with insurance and thinking about what to replace it with.

Your bike flew off the roofrack! How did that happen?

Sorry to hear that Paul. That must have been pretty distressing.

Gee's Paul, that's serious bad karma. Can you buy a frame and move the parts?

Looking at last years results, it seems that conditions this year were about 2 minutes slower than last year and that makes Craig's team result even more impressive at only 1/2 minute slower than last year.

Not sure why it came off, over many years it has been on the roof for thousands of km without incident. I think it was a combination of the strong winds, the wide rims, and carelessness on my part. It certainly was distressing see it in the rear view mirror, bouncing along the road.

The components are mostly ok, and it is insured, so hope to get a new frame and swap. It is with Felice at Cycling Projects for a quote.

To tell the truth I had sneaky moment of relief at having a good excuse not to race on Sunday.

I wondered where you were on Sunday.

Look on the bright side - it's a chance to upgrade...
