Hi All,

The Secretary of the Giant Cycling Club, Kylee Rose, and I will be running a ladies only ride to the 3 Gorges. The details are as follows:

Date: 2nd March
Time: 6am
Place: Fox Studio Gates (Robertson Rd)
Distance: 120km (approx)

It is women only unfortunately (sorry Adam) to give those who have never done it before a chance to do it in a less intimidating environment.

If you'd like to join in let me know and I will include you on the Facebook invite.

Jo

Is it slow, fast or middle paced?

It will depend on who comes but it looks like it's leaning towards middle paced from CP, possibly a little slower between Gorges but will wait up the top of each hill so you can still go as fast as you want on the hills themselves.

This ride now has 2 start points:
1. 6am at the Robertson Rd gates, Centennial Park (approx 120-130km total);
2. 715 at the Bakery at Turramurra on Bobbin Head Rd (return to bakery approx 80km).

Start 2 is perfect if you have not done a long ride before and/or are not keen on battling Pacific Hwy traffic in the afternoon.

As I mentioned before it will be a no drop ride. We will regather at the top of the hills and cruise in between them. However, we would ask that you have bunch ride experience for safety reasons (and if not, you have 3 weeks of Saturday Slowies to get some)!

And start place has changed as I got my bakeries mixed up:

2. 715 at the Bakery at St. Ives on Mona Vale Road (return to bakery approx 80km).

Just a reminder about the ride this weekend. Make sure you bring two water bottles, spare tube (or two) and pump (or cannisters) and enough food for a good few hours of riding.

Any questions let me know!

P.S. I don't ride in the rain. Watch this space if it is raining or even damp.

I will be driving to Centennial Park. You are all welcome to come for a run with me when we've finished the ride.

Hi All,

Apologies for the late notice but we have decided to cancel this ride due to the weather.

We made the call today so the other ride leader, Kylee, could go away for the weekend to see family. But when you look at the radar the weather forecast is unlikely to change.

And as has been pointed out to me, the last time I rode Gorges in the rain did not work out so well for me.

I still may ride either Waterfall or West Head with Bondi Fit. As my sister has rightly pointed out, the Ironman won't train itself!
