This year the race will be held Griffith. It's a long drive out there and it's going to be very hard to convince the other half to spend her long weekend at a cycling event.

So, for those who know anything at all about Griffith, what is there to do during the days and nights, apart from watching the cycling?

You could watch the first season of Underbelly and play 'Spot the Scene'?

Early bird entries close soon, it's only 6 weeks away to the racing!

I've decided to go and have entered the road and time trial events. I've scored a week off so I'll do the nationals as well. Apparently you can't get dropped doing an ITT but it will be touch and go :)

Anyone else entered yet or intend to enter?

That plan has entered my mind too. I'm particularly interested in the National ITT

In between could go skiing

I have been thinking about entering either/both the state and national champs. One day I will make my mind up.

Maybe, maybe. Depends a bit on format. In the Crit and Road Race the A graders ride off into the distance leaving the rest to struggle home?

In my experience yes and no (m2). In the crit yes, in the road race no.

In M4 and now M5 I've found that most races stay together. Personally I haven't been dropped in a NSW masters aged base race of any discipline in years. Where riders do get dropped is on hilly circuits, but you have a much better chance of staying with the Master aged base group and a skill based graded (A,B,C..) race despite there being riders of different skills as there will only be a few A graders in there and most riders could be better described as B graders, with some C graders thrown in.

I would like to go, if I can find someone to come with me... I am M5 and looking to do the road race and the crit. Probably head back on the Sunday after the Crit.
