On Easter Mon at 7:00am the Waratah Masters Erik Mather-Colnago Cup/Graded Scratch Race will be on at Eastern Creek using the full GP circuit.

I'm planning on racing D grade. Any other starters?

You mean they put you up to C Grade? I assume you had a win or two in D?

Yeah I call it shafted, I'm not ready and I haven't had a win yet but forced up anyway, although placed twice this year. I'm not tactical enough, and always get outsprinted.

Eastern Creek - you know you want to! There are lots of DHBCers with racing licences. Wide and safe Eastern Creek is a great place to start your crit racing ...

Stuart and I belong to the aero school of racing. Keep your mouth open for the entire race to get more air in. :-)

I am keen to give this a go but completely new to racing. Is there a training grade to start in?

Hi Emma. There is E grade - probably a good place to start. How much riding do you do a week? E Grade will be about 45-50 mins + 1 lap. D grade will be 60 mins +1 lap and you'd want to be a strong C28 pace rider to stay with the bunch (depending on how many riders turn up on the day).

Beejay - I don't think they do day licences at Waratahs. Best to send them an email.

I'm keen, could be the right event to start a long and prosperous Masters racing career

PS: Although it sound good to be a "master" I still need to ask the "boss" if she doesn't have other plans for the week end....

Ok, I did a little bit of digging. I don't think day licences are on offer. Entry via CyclingNSW only, and entries close this Sunday (29th March 2015)

Good thing you check, I was under the impression that I could sign up on the day...
Just signed up for C grade.

Who's actually registered for this?

I'm in Raph

I asked for C grade - you sounded lonely... I hope I can keep you company until the finish straight...where I hope to leave you behind

I've driven a Ford V8 race car at Eastern Creek - but not a pushbike - looking forward to it.

$6,000 in prizemoney - with women's prizes too. Amy, get in and clean up!

In the bunch - what it's like to race a crit: GoPro video of D grade last lap at the Colnago Cup. Some cameo's from Stuart, Joanne, Lisa & Donna.
