Hello Everyone!

I haven't been riding for around 3 months now (face of shock and horror) and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of the fastest way to recover previous form. Are there certain types of training I should focus on that will work faster rather than slowly just turning up to more and more club rides? Long rides, short rides, sprinting, hills, focusing on cadence, HR etc. ? Not sure if there is a similar thread to this buried somewhere in the forum.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tim

Welcome back!

I've done this a few times and I recommend riding solo to begin with - just ride, flat rides first - lapa, kurnell etc, then add some short hills ie eastern suburb hills, then a longer ride ie Waterfall. Once you can ride Waterfall comfortably then start adding in the longer rides with longer hills - start around 3 hours and 1,000m of climbing, ie RNP, MaCaars Creek Road.

Next step is 3 Gorges, Akuna etc. Build from 3 hours to whatever you like.

Personally id add group rides once you can comfortably ride Waterfall Solo - But that's just what I've done. Everyone is different.

BTW - There is no fast way.

Good luck!

Amy.

Tim,
Amy probably has the best idea of how to go about this but I don't think it'd do you any harm doing Wednesday La Pa - 6am at Post Office square or even Waterfall with the 28s.
