Hi,

Just wondering what you guys think of the R3 and also the S2.
i know at the end of the day it differs from person to person and its how the rider feels.

i have been looking for a new bike for awhile now have done alot of research online, and would like some general opinions of what you guys think?.

When my Bianchi died a month or so ago I was very close to getting an R3 or an RS, and still would if I hadn't taken the cheaper option of buying James' old Koln frame. I'm sure the aero benefits of the S2 are real but to reap them you need to either be sitting on the front of races or be off the front of races. Neither are situations I often find myself in. I don't think you'd go wrong either way though - Cervelo's tend to get pretty exclusively rave reviews. Plus they've got a lifetime frame warranty which is something I find myself taking notice of these days.

I'm deciding on a new frame as well, but both the R3 and S2 are out of the budget i've decided on.
For me the aero benefits of the S2 should be of some use, however whether the advantages would be significant enough, i'm not sure. Anyway, both frames frames seem to get great reviews, so really i'd be happy with either, and without further information, i'd say get what you like the look of better.

If you let us know your planned uses for it (race types, training, timetrials?, etc.), and your riding style/ type of riding you like (hills, sprinting, etc.) we can probably give a more definite opinion.

Nothing wrong with wanting a good bike, and when you get a good deal it's even better. I'm sure you'll be happy with the new bike, post some pics when you get a chance.

As for the R3, sounds like a good deal, and the dura-ace 7900 would be good to try, but at the moment it's a little out of my budget, and i need a 58cm frame.

Currently my budget is $2000 for the frameset, and i'm looking at getting a Ditec 890, though other options are Beone Rosso (CRC), and Canyon Ultimate CF. Leaning towards the Ditec right now.
