I did. I think I'll ride home very slowly in a very gentle gear, after drinking a large water before I leave and during the trip. I've ridden in 40 degrees before. It wasn't that bad. Or that good.

In 10 minutes I'll be cycling to Centennial Park, into a head wind...

Yep. It was mild this morning. However it is far from mild now when I return home!

Seriously, I recall when we were high school boys, we regularly played hard under 40 deg C sun. Never a complaint for the fun of it. Nowadays, 40 deg is portrayed as unbearable. HTFU! ;)

I rode home without incident at about 5:15 PM with readings suggesting it was 42C, but now find myself rather more tired than my modest commute warrants. En route I noticed my brave levers were warm to the touch - they're black and absorbed the heat. I felt my rims - the black parts were unpleasantly hot to touch. The braking surface was cooler than the black parts of the rims!
As my bike is predominantly black I felt the top tube and it too was warm. It got me thinking- was the frame perhaps a little stretched? Might I hear a little extra rattle or crunch of the gears? Nah - it wasn't THAT hot!

Perhaps fitness plays a role, 20 years ago I'm sure I would of died, but today it was no problem at all

I didn't find it too bad on the way home. Some of the more major roads I ride were unusually deserted – which was a little silver lining – or an ominous sign if you watch post-apocolyptic movies. Successfully avoided all zombies.

I did... I noticed I didn't sweat too much on the way home but the back of my throat was burning. No relief from the water bottle which I think was melting... As soon as I got home though I started sweating buckets when out of the wind.

Overall, however, was not as bad as I thought it would be.

10% humidity, wind and the dry heat made sure your sweat didn't coalesce.

Took me 20 mins longer than usual to get home... Not pleasant riding, but not too bad.

I thought it was a nice heat, I didn't ride though. I don't like humid hot. We have ridden 180km days in 45c heat, me and Simon had to start leaving earlier though because we sweat too much
