OK. Sasha at MRC is considering opening up for some of the key Tour nights, with wine bar/beer and food and a massive screen.

Could some of you suggest which nights would be the best to have social nights and serious Tour watching? He may run a few, so maybe 5 or 6 nights suggestions would be good.

Also, he may trial for the Giro. What would be the one best night towards the end of the Giro.

I'm not sure he wants to time trial at the Giro, rather trial a social night at the MRC watching the Giro.

Stage 20 - Saturday 25th May looks like a cracker. The Queen stage and should be epic. The final 4km do not dip below 10% and peaks at 18% in parts. Only issue is the Dinnerville is the next morning..... Booo

Good timing for the above question as I have confirmed with Sasha that it is on!

He will rearrange the cafe and bring some more comfortable chairs in. Dinner will be available up to about 9.30 with background music, and then drinks and snack food available for the rest of the night. The Big Screen will be up, and the Giro showdown will be on.

The stage 20 telecast shows from 11pm and Sasha will be serving until the end of that stage. After midnight the door will be closed to any newcomers due to licencing restrictions, but the show will go on for the private gathering inside.

Its a great socialising opportunity for the club, and based on the success of this trial, we may see many more of these during the Tour De France.

And a reminder that anyone riding the next morning needs to comply with NSW law and UCI regulations that you are required to be under 0.05% in blood alcohol level, or not adversely influenced by alcohol at a level below that.

If you have had a few extra drinks than you had planned and wouldn't be legal to drive a car at 6.20am Sunday, please do not ride your bike either.

Cheers

Sadly cant make it this saturday night but will certainly try and make it for the tour.

As an aside there is actually no UCI regulations in regards to blood alcohol level, Geoff. The UCI stipulate that they follow the dictation of WADA in regards to prohibited or controlled substances. WADA only has a restriction on alcohol for 6 sports, cycling isnt one of them. But its all irrelevant given that you are required to follow the local road rules anyway.

Let Sasha know that I'm there in spirit! I suspect I won't be able to make it in body though, due to a conflicting farewell party elsewhere.

Think the TT last nite may have settled Giro affairs - bit of a bugger but Sat nite should still be good.

It will be interesting to see if Cuddles can stay in P2 or the podium for that matter. The win is sealed for Nibali for sure.

Well it's going to take me a while to drive there, probably around an hour from here so you might not be there when I get there but I suppose I should leave soon if I want to make dinner.
