Every year there are fools in the club who get tricked by daylight savings. It ceases to amaze me...until I became the latest victim this morning.
I set my phone alarm for 5.45am and woke up at 6.45am. I was wondering why it was light and checked my arm watch and thought I had put in the wrong time in my phone alarm last night.
I was watching the Sunday program and 3 people there reported the same problem. The newer phones are programmed with daylight savings cutover for your time zone, and of course this has been delayed this year, so my phone automatically updated to older version of Standard Eastern time, giving me an extra hours sleep!
Who else was caught out?
Fooled by daylight saving
As they say, this is the mini-Y2K bug. And I always use the manual mode for daylight saving, except on the computer.
Don't worry, you weren't the only one in our club who got tricked this morning.

I got sucked in as well. I got to Mick Mazza's at what my BlackBerry told me was 6:35 and didn't see anyone and set of off to chase thinking the group was 5 mins ahead of me. Finally caught them at the servo on their way back and discovered that I was an hour behind the rest of the state.
BUT
Since I was on roll I kept going solo and got home in exactly 2:30. If it's an 85km round trip (I don't have a bike computer so I'm not sure) that makes for an average speed of 34km/hr! These new cranks are working wonders...

34km/h? It must be the daylight saving effect!
And I wondered how those who went on the 6 mushrooms ride went?

We went fine. We all used that single setting on alarm clocks called "Stupidly Bloody Early", and found each other no probs.
