Setting the pressure and rebound

I have bought a 2nd hand MTB from one of the Bernard riders

Being from a road background the concept of having to set the pressure and rebound for a front fork is a foreign concept.

The fork is a Manitou R7 Pro
My weight is 82kg's

I assume I will need to get my hands on a special pressure pump.

What comes next?

From my limited MTB experience. You need a shock pump (i need to return the one i borrowed...). Then you want to have the fork pressure so there's 25% sag (i think it was 25%) when you're sitting on the bike. There may be some pressure guidelines on the forks, otherwise google will probably find them.

T- bone Thanks for the advice

David Os and I did the Oaks fire trail yesterday and I think I need to add a bit more pressure in the front fork. When braking the bike tended to nosedive (ie the fork was a bit too soft).

Great ride but the return back to the car which was parked at Woodford was a slog in the heat.
