The first time I rode with the DHBC group I fell in love with the sound. I still love it new or old the sound is wonderful. Also love it when I'm occasionally stopped on a fast descent and bikes come past at speed, it oddly sounds so much louder than when you're on the bike.

How can I get that duck sound from my gears? Is this a vintage thing only??

Personally don't feel the old and new stuff sound that different ... maybe with the exception of Con's whirring brake pads on wheels, which sound like a landing UFO.
My personal favourite sound is one of intermittently swooshing wheels (1:37 in the video). Only hear this when someone much faster is going past you, but notice I can never hear it when I overtake someone.

1.25 on the video. These days a duck is not considered Euro enough. You need a large colourful parrot on your shoulder. See OREC rule 59.
