Can anyone suggest a good ride

from Marrickville to harbour bridge and say some of the northern suburbs and return

if we leave at say 6.00am and return by 9.30am
so at a c28's pace prolly the 80km in distance

I forgot to add
I would like to host an adventure ride in the not to distant future but would like to ride the course first
as it would not look good if I got lost

What you are describing is pretty much the Northern Adventures Ride

http://www.dhbc.org.au/forum/viewtopic. ... =Adventure

The route is Marrickville -> Milsons Point -> Spit Bridge -> Duffy's forest -> Northern beaches. Then you can optionally go to Manly and then Spit Bridge -> Milsons Point -> Marrickville

hit up the hills around the sydney beaches. Down bronte road up macpherson st loop. it's about a 3k loop that is good for hill repeats. it's a little easier doing it the other way around. if you want to mix it up sprint to the end of arden st and back. and if all else fails anything around vaucluse is always fun

This is the approximate route

Northern route map

There's some minor bugs in it, but you get the drift. Please note the escape routes are used for each end of spit bridge

Tim and I rode Awaba yesterday morning on our way up north...
There was talk of a possible 'DHBC Hill Sprint Championship' up to the roundabout.

LOVE the idea! i will be the guy who has a stroke halfway up, but it will be fun for sure!

just thinking of traffic - i assume it would be done individually and timed? dont think awaba would be particularly safe for a race otherwise...

If anyone is interested in doing some of the short sharp hills in Balmoral, the A and B Groups with Renegade are doing them next week (19th Feb). Both groups go to North Head, and then the B Group do 3 hills in Balmoral, while the A Group do the same 3, Awaba St, and then first 3 again.

With CP choked up by the music festival tomorrow, feel like a northern ride tomorrow if weather permits.

So where were you? We only got rained on once. It started at about 6:30am, and didn't stop until about 10am.

Just kidding. Wasn't too bad for most of the ride.

On a treadmill and got equally wet. The difference being that I didn't have to wash the bike.
