Just a reminder that entries for this year's Southern Hemisphere Cup close this Sunday, 4 September. Jo & I are entered. Anyone else keen for some laps of Eastern Creek? The E grade sprint train needs more riders.

Sponsored by Continental and Rudy Project there will be over $3,000 in prizes as well as trophies and medals for all grade winners and placegetters.

Ha you can see me struggling in A grade
Anyway A grade report;
Arrived rooted (196k last Sunday, followed by 10 spin classes, 1 work function, RAW and commuting)
Sat on the bunch, didn't contest the sprint. Average speed 41kph, 60k distance (according to another rider, I forgot to stop my computer).
Some of the other riders after the race said it was harder than normal, but to me it seemed about the same as last time, only I wasn't fresh. I suspect it was one lap longer, but I didn't count them. How long is a lap? Is the 60k quote out? Is 60 divisible by the lap distance?
Rode the M7 with Lacey afterwards.

That reminds me, saw Al use A grade to get away from BillYes, but you can't actually ride F grade unless you can prove you are over 70 or something.
yeah well, the link to the photo's was open on the Windows PC & although that's 'your' PC sweety I just posted up the links and then realised afterwards I'd used your login but seriously I couldn't be bothered doing the copy paste, deleting that one & re-posting as me. I mean, it's just photo's, not like I said anything on your behalf!STUART - STOP USING MY LOGIN TO POST STUFF - USE YOUR OWN - GRRRRR
It would be great to have you along Dougie and you'd stay with the bunch easy. You'll need to convince them to let you ride E Grade. F grade is for over 70's only. They tried to put me up to D this week but Joanne argued my case and I got to race E again and as I came about 10th I'll probably get to stay there for a while longer (following some sneaky drafting of C grade by a foursome on the front, which included one D grader who sat in with them instead of getting out of the way, allowing them to get away - this group included Frank of DHBC who got fourth). AndrewB keeps getting put in D grade and having seen him get spat out the back (especially at Eastern Creek) I'm in no hurry to move up. Thing is you can't do D grade at Lansdowne and then go back to E for Eastern Creek. Once you're in D, you stay there.It looks like fun...... I take it nuff nuff F graders like me can play?
You just need to tell them you only ride one day a week, you're slow and old with a dodgy knee. Try to look pathetic and don't place top 5 first time out.

For Mike: A lap is officially 3.93k's. They belled E grade early so we only got to do 6 laps and 44 mins of racing (supposed to be 45 mins + 1 lap). Hence the breakaway never got caught.
For what is worth, here's my Garmin stats (cadence is playing up. Need new battery I'd say). http://connect.garmin.com/activity/116178660

My friend Simon who runs the "SweatandGears" site has posted some new photos up of DHBC at the Southern Hemisphere Cup. He does some good photos and the site is pretty cool, although judging by the number of hits from DHBC I think most of you have checked it out already. Check out the new snaps.
