Lot of DHBC in attendance on a windy day. I rode c with Nozzle, Rhys and Matt. Nozzle attacked with about 5 laps left and was away for three lap before being caught. I had a go on the second last lap.
One other came with me and we got a good lead, passing b grade on the squircle . Alas, the head wind on the straight was too strong and I stopped like a brick half way down as the mixed b and c bunch swept past.
Rhys got 2nd in the sprint

It was certainly a challenging day out there in the windy. Only about half the A grade field finished, so I was happy to be there at the end. I was a little out of practise at the corners though.
Good to see all the other dhbc riders out there. It was a day for the bearded riders.

Thanks for the safe wheel to sit on Paul. It really helps having the known quantity that are your clubmates in the same race as you. There was a time with about six laps to go where I had the chance to sit on yours or Noel's wheel, and I thought Noel would attack, so I chose yours. One lap later, I was right. You were very steady and even-paced through the corners and I found that I was never on/off/on/off the gas and this helped me save a lot of energy late in the race.
I completely ballsed the sprint though. It was very windy as I only managed a max speed of 51.8km/h.
Hopefully I get some endurance this season and can help chubbsy/john in A grade. One day.
