The retro arm of DHBC, the Valley Wheelers are running their annual Royal Tour from Saturday morning. About 30 club members are congregating in Mudgee and then cycling to The Royal Hotel at the historic gold mining town of Hillend.
We have booked out this little 1860 hotel out for the night and then retrace our route back to Mudgee the next day. If you'd like to take part, you'll have to wait till next year. Sorry we are booked out. The ride is fully supported with a minimum of 2 or 3 SAG wagons. Refreshments and cakes await all riders at the top of difficult climbs.

Day before the Tour - Friday 27 Oct 2017
The DHBC invasion of the Central Tablelands has begun. Ten of a group of almost 30 having lunch at Gulgong this afternoon. The DHBC Valley Wheeler's 'Royal Tour' starts in earnest tomorrow morning.

The rest of the group reach Mudgee tomorrow (Sat 28 Oct) at around 9am. Everyone plans to head off at 10am sharp. First leg, Mudgee to Gulgong. Stop of a rest at a local cafe/restaurant, then head off to Hargreaves for lunch, then final leg into historic Hillend by late afternoon. Lots of climbing on heavy steel (and not so steel) bikes.
