Tim, comparing your splits with mine, I'm not 100% sure that a taller gear would of got you a faster time, as I have beaten you to the 65mtr mark on a taller gear.Time for me to try and push more then 86 inches.
I would say that you need to focus on getting those pedals moving quicker off the line and then go to a taller gear.
lol man doing it on a road bike would seriously make it easier!! easy gear for the start, then massive to finnish!!
yeah too big a gear isnt too good for starts, my faster times used to allways be on my smaller gear. But yeah i think im close to the same on 96 now, its only really good for the end of the metres

Bring your pedalsSo you are doubting my abilities by blaming it on the gears? Gimme your track bike and I'll show ya!!
Round 2 of the 250 challenge saw some sizzilling hot laps... however the little guy is staying where he is at my house for now. Notables were Alex who's knocking on the door of sub 23 seconds, Michael L with his new bike giving it all he had, Emmie for her 3 blast off's from the start line & Simon S for giving good ol' big red a shake.

i would tell every one that the secret is going down to 92, but i dont think that works unless your on 94 or 6 all ready.
Man that daral lad killed us. Theo can do aloot faster than that.

Lindsay - thanks very much for organizing the starts (rider ready etc), and timing the rides for the TT250Round 2 of the 250 challenge saw some sizzilling hot laps... however the little guy is staying where he is at my house for now. [That big red power plant thing needs a couple of starters to hold it]
With a stiff Nor-wester blowing the 250 challenge (22.5 sec) seemed to be blown away with it. But wait... was that DH rider screaming around the track propelled by the inert gas Argon riding into a PB & sub 22.5... well sadly we'll never know due to a stop watch malfunction Hard luck Alex but if you did it, you'll do it again.
Well done to Simon S who's knocked 1.1 seconds off his time in a month Congratulations mate, a good acheivement.
